Tek Edge Avantage
Tek Edge boasts access to a fully underground fiber optic network spanning 736 route miles between Atlanta, GA, and Miami, FL. This network includes eleven (11) ILA/POP colocation facilities, located approximately every 60 miles. The network is divided into two main segments: Atlanta to Jacksonville, FL (378 route miles) and Jacksonville, FL to Miami (358 route miles).
Tek Edge’s carrier-neutral infrastructure provides service providers, government agencies, and enterprise customers with a seamless network across Florida and Georgia, allowing them to expand their network footprint and carry their own traffic at a fraction of the cost of traditional telecom bandwidth leasing. Additionally, the network offers access to metro networks with splicing options every 3,000 to 5,000 linear feet, enhancing reach in local markets.
Long Haul Dark Fiber
Long haul typically refers to fiber that runs between major city pairs. Tek Edge offers clients long-term, long-haul routes through three primary options:
- 20 Year IRU
- Lease-to-IRU
- Monthly Lease
In all three options, colocation facilities are available every 60 miles along the routes.
Long Haul Dark Fiber
Short-haul fiber caters to users requiring fiber connectivity in intermediate areas, typically for local access to a Tek Edge colocation facility. Short-haul dark fiber offers advantages to local network operators by being optimized for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Our Unique Advantage
We offer an approximately 50-mile network from Equinix POP (“MI3”) in Boca Raton, FL at 4680 Conference Way South to the Equinix POP (“MI1”) in Miami, FL. This key route allows customers the ability to have diversity between two strategic locations in South Florida.
Network-Neutral Colocation
The Tek Edge system comprises several colocation facilities owned and managed by Tek Edge, strategically positioned approximately every 60 route miles (100 km) along the route. Clients can lease cabinets in these facilities for the installation and operation of their optical amplification, regeneration, and core transport equipment. These colocation facilities function essentially as modular Meet-Me Rooms, equipped with fully redundant power, 24/7 security, fire suppression systems, and direct access to the Tek Edge dark fiber network.
