Dry Type Transformers
These utility-grade, air-cooled transformers are deployed in facilities operating near full load conditions, which improves efficiency and performance in industrial and commercial applications.
What is a Dry-Type Transformer?
Dry-type transformers are distinct from their liquid-filled counterparts as they do not use liquids for cooling or temperature regulation. Instead, these transformers utilize gaseous or solid insulation mediums around their coils to dissipate excess heat. This makes dry-type transformers ideal for indoor settings and sensitive environments where liquid coolants could pose risks or are impractical.
Capabilities
All Tek Edge low voltage and medium voltage dry-type transformers are designed, manufactured, and rigorously tested to comply with the highest industry standards, including NEMA, ANSI C.57, DoE, and IEEE.
These dry-type transformers offer customization to accommodate specific size constraints and a wide range of applications, such as step-up and step-down power distribution, energy storage, urban power grids, hospitals, laboratories, and data centers, ensuring mission-critical performance.

Dry-Type Transformers
A thermally conductive cast epoxy resin is used as standard insulation for the coils, providing self-cooling capabilities and protection against fire, moisture, and leakage.
Special corrosion protection is applied to the coils and core clamps, ensuring durability and performance even in 100% relative humidity and other harsh environments.
Guaranteed short-term overload capacities are achievable with the available forced air-cooling (AF) options.
Benefits
Self-extinguishing materials in the transformer prevent arcs from short-circuits, thereby eliminating the release of potentially harmful gases under high-temperature conditions.
Achieve cost savings with our compact, lightweight, and high-efficiency transformers that feature low load loss.
